Ho’olaule’a at Kamehameha School

March 2, 2024, from 9am-4pm, I will be at the Ho’olaule’a on the campus of the Kamehameha School in upcountry Maui. I will have a tent in the courtyard and will be bringing home decor, clothing, t-shirts and my new Hula/Lehua t-shirt for women. “Rain is a blessing” so come prepared for upcountry’s cool and showery weather. This event is free and a great way to support the school (and see their incredible campus).

New Hula Lehua T-shirt!

I have designed a new Hula/Lehua womens t-shirt for the upcoming 2024 Merrie Monarch Hula Festival!

My blockprint design is the Lehua blossom which is associated with the hula and Hopoe. Hopoe is both the name of the goddess Hi’iaka’s close friend and the description of a perfectly shaped Lehua blossom. Hopoe is credited with teaching the first hula to Hi’iaka. There are mentions in old stories of the lehua blossoms which sway to and fro in the wind and rain of Puna.

“Hopoe, ka Lehua ki’eki’e i luna”  –  Hopoe, the exalted Lehua on high.

Merrie Monarch Hula Festival 2024!

April 3-6, 2024, I will be one of the crafter/artists at the Merrie Monarch Hawaiian Arts and Craft Fair in Hilo! I am honored to be chosen once again to participate in the most anticipated and popular Hawaiian Arts fair in Hawai’i. Please come by my booth, C-31,  in the Civic Auditorium. I am in the piko so you can’t miss me!

I will have a new Hula t-shirt design for na wahine and for the first time, I plan to bring my mens t-shirts. I will also have my Pillow covers, table runners, drink mat sets, clutches, Hele bags and more womens clothing.

I sold out by the third day last year, so hele mai early for the best selection!

Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!

I would like to extend a warm mahalo to all those who purchased or received my blockprint art this year!

I am grateful that groups like the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement helped Maui artists with event opportunities and the Made in Maui Festival reduced our booth fees. We live in such a special place with so much aloha!

Mahalo to friends, store accounts, customers and my ohana for your continued support. I am humbled by your kind words.

Hau’oli Makahiki Hou 2024 – Imua,

New He’e Nalu T-Shirt

I have a new mens T-shirt design – He’e Nalu (surfboard)! It is an original blockprint carving which I turned into a digital design for t-shirts. I print all my mens t-shirts in a linear, front of the shirt design format (nothing on the back). Look for this new design at any of my in-person shows.

Centerpiece Mat is back!

Back by popular demand – my centerpiece mat! I have made the original blockprint art Ulu design on textured canvas. This time I am making it with a heat transfer method instead of hand printing. This insures your design will not fade. You can purchase this new product at one of my in-person shows.

Kapono 50th C & K anniversary at the MACC

On December 9, 2023, I will have a table at the Henry Kapono 2023 Lifetime Party Concert held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului. Hours for shopping are 4:30-9:00pm outside under the Pavillon by the outdoor stage. Even if you are not attending the show, come early and holiday shop!

Many of the same artisans from the Merrie Monarch will be there displaying their beautiful Hawaiian crafts. Admission is free. Hours: Friday 2pm-7pm, Saturday 10am – 4pm.
